During the past three weeks, the participants of the first Verano Puma programme in the United Kingdom enjoyed their English immersion programme, as well as the summer activities offered by the host university, King’s College London, and the broader offer in London and the United Kingdom.

The Verano Puma concluded on 20 July 2018 with the last activities of the programme and the certificate ceremony. The participants concluded their course making use of their research and public presentation skills. The students made group presentations and addressed topics such as the legal status of British citizens and London’s multicultural features. The students also took the opportunity to share their experiences during their stay in the British capital.

After the presentations, the students received certificates from King’s College London as well as from UNAM United Kingdom, Centre for Mexican Studies. Dr Ana Elena González, Deputy Head of the Centre, as well as Jessica Carpinteiro gave the last words to the first cohort, thanking them for their effort and commitment. Dr González invited students to come back to future courses and other offers.

The Verano Puma concluded successfully. The UNAM United Kingdom will continue working to increase the offer for Mexicans in the United Kingdom and strengthen the links between British universities and UNAM’s academic community.
